Hungarian Elections: Mobilisation at Home and Abroad

2022-06-30

Political Capital monitored Hungarian media’s narratives about the 2022 general election during the campaign period and immediately afterwards. We paid attention mainly to articles about the opposition, Hungarians living abroad, the Euro-Atlantic Community, Ukraine and relations with Russia and China. In our analyses, we focused primarily on the number of articles published, time-trends, the articles’ popularity and their attitudes towards the above-mentioned actors. Our results show the extent to which media communications helped disseminating the messages of Fidesz and the opposition, respectively.
